How to: Convert a Word 95 outline to a PowerPoint 95 outline.
Solution:
Save a Word 95 document in Outline view. Open the outline in PowerPoint 95 using the 'Outline' type from the 'List Files Of Type' option.
NOTE: The following steps convert the entire document to a PowerPoint
presentation. Each Heading 1 Outline entry in Word 95 becomes a new slide in PowerPoint 95.
1) Save an existing Word 95 document in Outline view:
a) Open an existing Word 95 document.
b) Select the 'View' menu and select 'Outline'. (The 'Outline' toolbar appears.)
c) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save'.
d) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Close'.
2) Open PowerPoint 95.
3) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'. (The 'Open' dialog box appears.)
4) Select 'All Outlines' from the 'Files of type' drop-down list box.
5) Select the location of the Word 95 document from the 'Look in' list box.
6) Click 'Open'. (The Word 95 outline is converted to a PowerPoint 95 presentation.)
NOTE: If the 'Heading Numbering...' command from the 'Format' menu option is used to number the heading entries, then the 'Report It' must be used to convert a Word 95 outline to a PowerPoint 95 presentation. Otherwise, a new slide is not created for each Heading 1 outline entry.
